Petrolab, our great friends in Cornwall, UK have been busy over the last few months building up their capability in automated mineralogy. It is great to see that they have added a new Zeiss automated mineralogy system with Mineralogic Mining to their already strong suite of process mineralogy services. The team at Petrolab has always offered great service and we’ll be looking forward to seeing some of the great things they can do with the Zeiss system.
See the excerpt from their news release below:
Petrolab are delighted to report the arrival of a ZEISS automated mineralogy system. It is a dedicated system running ZEISS ‘s Mineralogic Mining automated mineralogy engine and couples a ZEISS SEM with two Bruker EDX detectors.
The system has been designed as a ruggedized mine site deployable SEM and is currently with Petrolab for evaluation and training. As part of the support package for these systems in the future Petrolab will be providing data validation and quality control services.
Following evaluation, Petrolab is to install a ZEISS EVO MA-25, also running Mineralogic Mining, but with a much larger chamber capable of accommodating a wider range of samples.
